NOTICE

When writing to inmates in Kansas, you MUST include your first and last name in the return address area of the envelope.

You also MUST include the inmate's K-Doc number in the mailing address.

If either of these is missing your letter will be rejected (and probably returned to you).

KAR 44-12-601 section (b)(7) requires that all incoming inmate mail shall bear the sender's name and address on the envelope, or the mail will not be delivered, and shall be subject to censorship in accordance with applicable regulation.  Effective immediately, this section of the KAR shall be enforced, which will result in a  delay of mail not bearing the name and address of the sender.

All inmates are encouraged to advise those who send mail to them of this practice so that mail will not be unnecessarily delayed.
