Female Inmates Seeking Pen Pals
(aka "Jailbabes")
Women in prison are looking for someone on the outside to write to through the US Mail to help make their time while incarcerated go by quicker. They typically seek someone to be a friend with compassion and understanding, open-minded, open hearted, with a sense of humor and a big shoulder. Writing allows them to share their dreams, their fantasies, their hopes for a better future upon their release.
Take some time and read some of the ads on here! Then decide whether you can be someone to brighten the day of a female prisoner who has no one to talk to except another female prisoner like herself.

Cowtowninfo.com, formerly known as Gabby's Lounge BBS that was started in 1989, has evolved into a web site specializing in helping incarcerated women find friends as pen pals to help them through their loneliness.
Each inmate has her own personal web page that may include as many photos and as much text as she wants. There is no cost for her to place an ad, nor is there any cost associated with you retrieving her mailing address.
History
Providing personal ad space on-line has always been a hobby of mine and I'll continue to do it as long as I am able. In the early days of Gabby's Lounge, I began receiving a lot of personals ads from inmates, which prompted the categorization of "Jailbabes" to separate them from other personals ads. The name stuck, and at one point someone else even registered that domain name. It didn't last long because they tried to charge $7.00 (or so) for each inmate's mailing address that you can get here for free.
Today
You'll find personals ads from women in prison, with and without photos, listed by state or in order of receipt. Also, to make it easier to locate female inmates, I have set up a Yahoo! Group that includes a database function that allows sorting and searching on any available criteria.

Also
If you want to download an Ad Form and send it to an inmate so she can place an ad on cowtowninfo.com, feel free. The form is in Microsoft Word format or Adobe PDF. Please consider printing the front, then flip the paper and print the back before sending it to your incarcerated pen pal.
On the back of the form is a section for comments or "constructive criticism". An inmate suggested that, since I am able to scan photos for their web pages, perhaps I could make copies of their photos for them as well. So I began offering that as a service, at a price of one 1st class postage stamp per photo reprint (plus a SASE to mail the copies and original back to the inmate). It has been a very popular service! Since the first of this year I have provided more than 200 different photo reprints to over 100 different inmates. Most of those 200 photos were ordered in groups of 4 to 9 each. What this means is that these women want to send their pictures to their pen pals.
Why
Sometimes women do dumb things and get caught, ending up in prison
as a last resort.
Sometimes they're guilty as hell and have committed major crimes! But sometimes,
although guilty, the crimes aren't violent. Crimes such as using drugs, writing bad checks
and forgery, while punishment is in order, don't make these women especially bad people.
Being in prison can be very lonely for them, and usually they've lost all connection with
former friends, sometimes even their families disown them!
So they seek pen pals. Someone they can write to and share their thoughts
and dreams. Someone who will write back and be sincere, compassionate, caring. They
don't have access to modern conveniences like the Internet, and many can't even get pens
and paper to write on! Sometimes she'll have to tear a note pad page in half so she can
write to two people. Stamps are scarce, too, and indigent women need help with things such
as stamps along with their normal hygiene products. An inmate in Missouri earns all
of $8.50 per month to buy toiletries or other necessities!
So if you're someone willing to take on a new friend, someone who will
write frequently and help, through your words, less fortunate ladies get through some
very, very difficult times, browse the list of female inmates seeking friendships through
the good ol' United States Post Office's mail system! Read the inmate's
intimate personals ad. Even join the Jailbabes Yahoo! Group and
discuss your experiences with others who write to inmates.
You can bring more happiness than you might realize just by sharing your thoughts and
concerns with one of these ladies who is less fortunate than you. Make a note of
their birth date and send them a birthday card, it would mean SO much to her!

women in the free world. Cowtowninfo.com has been providing these listings to bring men
and women together with an opportunity to restructure their lives. These ladies do not
have access to the Internet. Their only means of contact with the outside world is
through snail-mail. The mailing addresses of these inmates are provided totally for free.

you like your name added to the mailing list that gets sent out to anyone who asks for
pen-pals? After reading through the above lonely pleas for companionship, wouldn't you like it if these ladies spent their free time thinking about you while writing you personal, sensual secrets and fantasies? I receive requests from ladies and men in prison for the names of men and women who wish to be pen pals. Prison is a very lonely place and they would like to communicate with folks in the outside world. Most are in Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, Virginia and Florida, but many ask for pen pals from all over the USA. Some request men by age groups, most don't care about ages or race or gender, they just want to write to someone.
